Photography at shore shots
We are hosting our yearly photography competition which will be free to view at the festival venue The Light House Cinema. We are stoked to have a brilliant lineup of incredible talent, bringing you some of the best in cold water surfing shots. Here are the profiles of the contenders for this year's Best Photographer.
Tim has been involved in image making around surfing and adventure for the last 19 years. Originally starting as a film maker, Tim spent six years on the road, contributing and making 14 films and documentaries around surfing. He then settled in North Cornwall and started to focus on photography, drawing inspiration from sharing an office with The Surfers Path magazine. His incredible surf photography book 'Numb' is a beautiful collection documenting six years of coldwater adventure. A founder of The Plastic Project, he now tours the world, presenting the marine litter issue through photography.
Ian is a water and surf photographer, filmmaker and editor currently based on the west coast of Ireland, right on the doorstep of the infamous Irish surf breaks (Bundoran and Mullaghmore, to name but a few). He has been a professional photographer since 2005, and before that worked as a photographer's assistant for a number of years. Besides photography, he also produces films and video. Ian is always looking to collaborate and is available for touring surfers, surf magazines and brands looking for coverage and visual exposure in Ireland and abroad. His work shown at the festival will feature some jaw dropping up close and personal views of Mully and more.
