WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT

Microplastics

We need to change our habits.

Microplastics come from a variety of sources, including from larger plastic debris that degrades into smaller and smaller pieces. In addition, microbeads, a type of microplastic, are very tiny pieces of manufactured polyethylene plastic that are added as exfoliants to health and beauty products, such as some cleansers and toothpastes. These tiny particles easily pass through water filtration systems and end up in the ocean lakes, posing a potential threat to aquatic life.

Sunday the 22nd of April is Earth Day. Learn about the problems and how you can help with special screenings of A Plastic Ocean, Smog Of The Sea and a talks by leading environmental activists.

ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Shore Shots started as a grassroots initiative in Dublin and has grown into an inspirational event which attracts surfers, ocean explorers, creatives and outdoor enthusiasts from all over Europe. 2018 is the sixth year of the event and we have sold out all previous five events. After three years in Dublin we moved the event to Sligo on the North West coast in 2016 and we found our natural home.
